He couldn’t do it, and no one is surprised.
The host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” returned to ABC after a one-week suspension for saying MAGA Nation helped kill Charlie Kirk.
He was wrong, and the lie shocked a nation. Instead of directly apologizing for the lie, Kimmel danced around the subject.
- He cried. Of course. That’s what the former “Man Show” host does these days
- He attacked President Donald Trump. Of course. That’s all the former “Man Show” host does these days
- He praised Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk. That’s the kindest part of Kimmel’s monologue
- He made himself a free speech martyr, ignoring why he’s the furthest thing from that
Through it all, something was missing. Something massive. Something that spoke directly to his “free speech” mission.
Yesterday, hours and hours before “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” taped Tuesday’s episode, Google announced it had censored users under pressure from the Biden administration.
That wasn’t a talk show host riding the pine for a week. This was direct government censorship, a true infringement on the First Amendment. It happened during a global crisis, and it wasn’t restricted to the pandemic.
Fox News:
…White House officials at the time pushed Google behind the scenes to remove perceived misinformation related to COVID-19. The lawyer for Google also noted that the big tech platform censored content independently of the Biden administration based on its internal policies but that the company has since rolled back those policies.
The New York Post:
Users including current FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, now-White House counterterrorism chief Sebastian Gorka and “War Room” podcast host Steve Bannon had been yanked off the video site in recent years after being flagged for repeated violations of COVID-19” and “elections integrity” policies (emphasis added).
And Kimmel didn’t bring it up. Not one syllable.
It’s no accident.

Like Kimmel’s initial, vicious lie, it’s part of Kimmel’s radical transformation from rude comic to far-Left activist. He ignores Democrats behaving badly.
The Biden administration crushed free speech, and because it mostly impacted conservatives, Kimmel looked the other way. Then and now.
He also failed to rally behind canceled stars like Tucker Carlson, Roseanne Barr and Gina Carano. That’s who he really is, a naked partisan who waves the free speech flag only when it’s convenient.
Ironically, Kimmel thanked prominent conservatives like Clay Travis and Ben Shapiro for supporting his free speech rights during the recent imbroglio. If only Kimmel ever did the same. (Will he do so moving forward?)
It’s good that Kimmel is back on the air. Market forces may take him down again, but no government diktat should.
Nor did the latter actually happen, according to all available information.
Every monologue reveals who Kimmel really is. And we can see it with our own eyes. He’s a free speech fraud, plain and simple.
