Three individuals were intercepted by authorities at Caticlan Airport on Thursday and questioned for allegedly using fraudulent credit cards to book Cebu Pacific flights and for the unauthorized resale of travel funds via various social media platforms.

Cebu Pacific’s statement regarding individuals caught using fraudulent cards to book flights.

Cebu Pacific said it is working closely with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to establish how the suspected scheme was carried out, whether others were involved, and if additional customers may have been affected. The three passengers initially flew from Davao City to Caticlan as part of a trip to Boracay. They were at the airport for their scheduled return flight to Davao when they were flagged by airport security and held for further verification.

The investigation remains ongoing. Cebu Pacific has emphasized that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement and is further strengthening its fraud-prevention and monitoring systems to protect customers from unauthorized transactions involving travel funds and other forms of payment.

Cebu Pacific strongly reminds all passengers to book flights only through CEB’s official channels—its website, mobile app, or accredited travel partners. Doing so ensures access to the airline’s guaranteed lowest fares, accurate flight details, and legitimate booking and payment services.

Passengers are strongly advised not to transact with unauthorized third-party sellers, unverified social media pages, or individuals claiming to represent Cebu Pacific. Transactions made through these channels may lead to invalid or incomplete bookings, unexpected or hidden fees, difficulties with changes or refunds, and even travel disruptions or denied boarding on the day of departure.

For your safety and convenience, always verify that you are using Cebu Pacific’s official platforms: the cebupacificair.com website, the official Cebu Pacific mobile app, or any of CEB’s accredited partner travel agencies. Only these official channels are authorized to sell genuine CEB flights, issue valid booking confirmations, and provide reliable customer support for your travel needs.

Customers who transact through unauthorized channels and agents may not be able to:

  • Receive a complete booking and ticket due to incorrect fares
  • Do online check-in
  • Rebook
  • Refund
  • Add bags or meals

To book your flights with CEB, you may directly visit www.cebupacificair.com or download our official mobile app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
